This year there is nothing but hype coming from coach TRude. This team has just enough in his mind to compete with the big boys. Week 1 would be a great challenge to that statement as we had a rematch from last year's season opener playing host to the Wisconsin Badgers.

    1st qtr.
NC St. got the ball first and drove right down the field. That is of course until freshman QB Antony Bell was picked off by Desmond Young. All of the confidence of their opening drive was quickly drained. Wisconsin proceeded to march the other way down the field with their drive capping off with a TD.

    2nd qtr.
Reall the whole first half could be summed up saying this was a defensive struggle. Both teams moved the ball, but defense prevailed and had no scoring until NC St. finally moved in for the TD on a Calhoun 1 yard plunge. 7-7 with :40 left in the half. Wisconsin was determined to answer back. They drove down the field in a short amount of time and got all the way down to the 2 yardline with under :10 seconds left. Williams drops back to pass......Looking for a receiver and has one on the right....... Throws the ball.....

yes folks that was a pick 6 the other way and that would close out the half!

    3rd qtr.
The only score in the 4rd would be by the Badgers. With just under 2 minutes left they punched the ball in from 1 yard out to knot this one up again at 14.

    4th qtr.
Anthony Bell connected with TE Sean Gold from 14 yards out and took the lead 21-14. Eddie Johnson(the guy who had the pick 6 earlier) came up huge with his second pick of the day and as a result the Wolfpack wound up going up 28-14 with under 2 to play. One thing about this Wisconsin team that we learned last year is that they are never truely out of a game. This play shows a reason why as they closed the gap to 28-21

Fortunately for NC St. they picked up the onside kick and were able to close this one out for the final of 28-21.

*Thanks Tuco for two great matchups. We play pretty solid games and I'm sure my days are numbered with you. Best of luck

Traveling to archrival North Carolina Tarheels home stadium turned out to be a nail biter. This game was 10-7 NC St. at the half. The second half was a back and forth affair. UNC TD followed by a NC St. TD. That ended the 3rd. NC St. starts the 4th with a FG for the 20-14 lead. With just over 2 minutes to go UNC scores the go ahead TD 21-20. As time expires NC St. hits the game winning FG from 23 yards out!

*Maurice Washington is the star of the game rushing 17 times for 147 yards and 1 TD.

In one of the easiest games in a long time NC St. hands Duke a loss 24-7. Total yards really stands out in this one as NC St. racks up 433 to Duke's 172. Over 40 rush attempts by the Pack this game, but the star was Freshman QB Anthony Bell who didnt throw any picks or TD's, but still went 19 of 27 for 272 yards. 7 of those grabs went to star TE Sean Gold for 91 yards.

Alright let's get a recap with a highlight already!!! =-)

NC St. was in a shootout this week. Actually we scored every single possesion of the game, yet we still had to score with :11 secs to win the game. The unstoppable Wake Forest Deamon Deacons played like robo the whole 4th quarters. Luckily we had plays like this out of our running game...

Final Score NC St. 45-42 over Wake Forest

*we had an onslaught of recruits in attendance and hope to land a few of them. Updates to come on our recruiting situation.
