Trojans Steal One from Seminoles 17-13
USC traveled to Tallahassee to face Coach ChildPlease9 Florida State Seminoles. The two coaching staff have faced off several times over the years and almost every time the games have been nail bitters that go down to the wire. This game would be no exception. The two teams were scoreless until midway thru the 2nd qtr when USC final broke through the stout Seminole defense and scored on a 2 yard run by HB Perry Wright. But that score was setup the play before when Bake Jones found WR Joesph Lawrence open down field for 64 yards when the Seminole defense jumped short route to the FB in the flats. But the Seminoles came right back and drove deep into Trojan territory before USC was able to hold and force a 32 yard FG and ended the first half with USC leading 7-3. In the 3rd Qtr the two teams continued to continued to trade field position as neither offense could take over the game. Midway thru the 3rd Qtr the Seminoles cut the lead to 7-6 when they once again drove deep into Trojan territory only to be forced to kick a 33 yard FG. The game stayed this way ntil roughly 2 minutes remaining in the game when the teams went on a scoring spree. USC extended their lead to 10-6 with 1:58 remaining with a 45 yard FG. Florida State roared back down the field and captured their first led of the game at 13-10 when Dwight Watts plunged in from 1 yard out with 53 seconds remaining. In desperation the Trojans went to air and Jones found Quintin Tanner open for a 55 yard strike with 3 seconds remaining to steal the win from the Seminoles and give the Trojans a 17-13 victory they did not deserve.
After the game Coach Uagrad90 told reports I hate to win a game like that especially against a team and a coach like ChildPlease9 that I respect very much. But I'm not giving it back, but instead plan to use this as motivation for our team.
Great game ChildPlease9 and I look forward to the return match in Los Angles next season. I need to talk to me Athletic Director and see if he can work out something with your Athletic Director and see if we cant get a series setup like USC has with Notre Dame.

We'll have to crunch the numbers after next year's trip to LA to see if it's sustainable for the program. Nice game and nice writeup Guy.

We struggled in this game and thought we might get beat untill we pulled it out late in the game, turnovers almost domed us and the QB play sucked.

After A Rough Start, Buckeyes Rebound For Win Over Purdue

Defensively, the game started off very similar to the Michigan State game. RB Derrick Tate was unstoppable and had a lot of big runs in the 1st quarter. After that though, the defense started to tighten up and shut the Boilermakers out for the rest of the game. Offensively, Ohio State was really clicking for most of the game. The Buckeyes didn't pass much because the running game was working so well, but when they did, the passing game worked pretty well.
