The University of Georgia is proud to announce the hiring of Future Hall of Fame Coach, Coach Runthepound. Coach Runthepound brings to Athens, GA a 76-6 record from his past 6 season as the Head Coach at North Carolina. Along with an outstanding record, Coach Runthepound has a National Title from 2010, his first season in Chapel Hill. He is a proven coach and was able to manufacture a powerhouse program from a run of the mill team in North Carolina. He was able to bring some of the nations top players in to play for him and hopes to do so at Georgia. The Bulldog nation hopes that Coach Runthepound can revive a once hallowed team and return them to glory...something that hasnt been done in Athens in 36 years. This years team is built to make a run at the National Title and Coach Runthepound hopes to take advantage of the the talent given to him. Offensively, the Bulldogs will be breaking in a new QB. Jonathan Boone replaces a Heisman contender from the past few season and has the attributes to pick up where the Dawgs left off. He will be handing the ball to Leonard King and Maurice Johnson. King was able to gain over 1800 yds on the ground last season. Johnson will spell King whenever needed. Jamal White and Ken Durbin will be starters at the wideout position. White will serve as one of the team captains this season. Cedric Thomas returns at the TE position and has 2 years of playing time under his belt. Thomas has NFL written all over him and many expect him to have a great season, potentially setting himself up for a 1st or 2nd round draft pick. The offensive live is strongest at the Tackle Position where Mario Palmer and John Cook line up. Matt Alexander will fill the Gurad spot next to Cook which will solidify a great strength on the right side of the line. Defensively, the strength of the D Line will be its interior linemen. The experienced Anthony Fuller and Chris Gaston will create an immovable force for opposing teams. The OLB tandem of Tom Davis and Patrick Parks are as good as anyone in the nation at the OLB position. Both guys will be working overtime trying to make sure that Vince Palmer is handling his spot well in the middle, being a first year starter. Thomas Brown brings incredible speed and coverage skills to his position as the strong corner for the Bulldogs. Brown will also serve as a team captain and will handle some kickoff return duties. Stephen Hawkins will line up for his final season for the Dawgs at the Free Safety position. He brings a wealth of experince and is a ball hawker from his spot. Victor Davis will manage the strong safety spot. On Special Teams, Carlton love is back for his senior season with a leg as strong as any in college football. Joseph Walton will serve as the teams punter after he was offered a scholarship late in the off season. As previously mentioned, Thomas Brown will handel some of the kicking duties as well as Leonard King and Jamal White. Depth Cahrt will be added tonight.
