Strong Defensive 2nd Half Powers USC to a 31-21 Win over Arizona State
The Trojans hosted the Sun Devils at the Coliseum in a game where both teams were looking to get the upper hand in the PAC-12 South race. After the 1st Qtr the Trojans found themselves in a dog fight as Arizona State lead 14-7 on the strength of Brandon Edwards rushing. But USC was able to regain the upper hand in the 2nd Qtr when Andre Boyd scored twice to give USC a 21-14 halftime lead. In the 2nd half USC was able to control the ASU attack minus an 80 TD run by Edwards and pulled away for a 31-21 win. Despite giving up 176 yards rushing and 2 TDs to Edwards the key to the game was the Trojans ability to hold ASU to 1/8 on the 3rd down conversions. For the Trojans they continued to control the clock with a balanced attack 182 yards passing and 296 yards rushing. The highlight of the game was the Trojans were finally able to get both HB 100 yards rushing as Boyd ran for 156 yards and 2 TDs while Wright rushed for 101 yards and 1 TD.

The big play for Alabama was a Chance Scott reception for a 63 yard score. Bama scored the go ahead TD with 2:39 left in the game on a 1 yard run by Tidwell. Ole Miss was threatening to score when they became their own worst enemy. Ole Miss's QB scrambled to near the 20 but a holding penalty called it back. On the next play Ole Miss again appeared to make up a lot of lost ground but another holding call pushed them another 10 yards back. The Bama defense held onto the victory as Alabama pulls off the upset and improves to 4-0 in the SEC West with a huge game next week against the Tennessee Vols.

    Armstrong 11-17 246 yards and 1 TD
    Sims out with a concussion

Nebraska Jumps Out To A Lead And Holds On Against Ohio State

The key moment of this game came in the 4th quarter. Down 10 points, Ohio State closed it to 3 with under 2 minutes left. Despite having 3 timeouts, the Buckeyes went for an onside kick and actually recovered it. Ohio State moved down into the FG position with a minute left when QB Fernandez was sacked and fumbled the ball. It was recovered by Nebraska. Still having 3 timeouts though, Ohio State forced a 3-n-out and got another chance. Fernandez would throw an interception though to give up any shot at winning the game.
This was back-to-back games where Ohio State blew it in the final minute of the game.
