Week 1 Game Summary:
California Golden Bears (0-1) 17 at #9 Nebraska Cornhuskers (1-0) 36The Nebraska Cornhuskers opened play for the 2010-2011 season with a win against the Cal Golden Bears. Nebraska took a 19-3 lead at halftime and never looked back, winning by a final score of 36-17. Halfback Roy Helu did the brunt of the work for the Husker offense as Quarterback Taylor Martinez had a rough day through the air in his first game at Nebraska. The Husker defense was pesky forcing two interceptions and a fumble. Week 2 Game Summary:
#9 USC Trojans (1-0) 38 at #6 Nebraska Cornhuskers (1-1) 28It was not a pretty day for the Cornhuskers as they fell to #9 USC at home this weekend. Despite being down 17-6 at the half, the Huskers rebounded and took a lead of 20-17 late in the third quarter. However, a 21 point quarter in the 4th by the Trojans coming from 2 turnovers by Nebraska QB Taylor Martinez propelled USC to victory. #12 Nebraska Cornhuskers (2-1) 34 at #20 Penn State Nittany Lions (1-2) 31Traveling to Happy Valley, the Cornhuskers knew it would not be an easy game to win against #20 Penn State. Following a loss last week to USC, the Huskers needed a win to even have a remote chance at competing for the BCS Title this season. A game that would go down to the wire with the lead going back and forth. Nebraska kicked a game winning field goal as time expired to send the Nittany Lion fans home empty handed. Following a big win against Penn State on the road, the Nebraska Cornhuskers faced another big challenge as they headed to Death Valley to face the #7 LSU Tigers. It was a defensive game with the two teams turning the ball over a total of 10 times, but in the end it was the Huskers who came away with more big plays. The Huskers prevailed sending their season record to 3-1 and will be at home next week for a much needed bye week.

Kansas State Wildcats (3-2) 6 at #4 Nebraska Cornhuskers LSU Tigers (4-1) 31Nebraska is on a roll. Coming off a bye week they took down conference foe Kansas State and were victorious by 25 points. Quarterback Taylor Martinez finally had a successful game, his first of the year. The Huskers have an extremely important game this weekend as conference opponent #23 Texas comes in to the Sea of Red on Saturday. The Huskers continued their winning ways in Week 7 as they knocked off #23, Big 12 foe, Texas. The Huskers finally played an entire game as a team and the result showed that. Nebraska will travel to Stillwater and take on another Big 12 foe this weekend, Oklahoma State. Nebraska won again in Week 8 as the Huskers traveled to Stillwater, Oklahoma to take on the Cowboys of Oklahoma State. This game was back and forth the entire time and came down to the last possession. Nebraska scored the winning touchdown with only :07 left on the clock to propel them to a 6-1 start to the season. The Huskers will take on Missouri next week in a crucial Big 12 game.
