Tennessee Season 9 Championship Run
Volunteers Cruise Tennessee cruise past USC
Tennessee rolls over USC. The UT defense was too much for USC to handle. Blitzes from LBs, Safties, Corners, DL dropping into coverage had the USC coaches and players dazed and confused. While not getting a great rushing YPC, Tenn continued to pound the rock, totaling over 100 rushing yards on the day on 27 carries. Tyler Bray was the POTG going 16-27 237 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT. Coach kiffen was heckled all game long and climaxed by smokey "Getting Loose" and chasing kiffen into his locker room when the game ended. Kiffen skipped the post game conference and flying back to SoCal in defeat. The play of the game was the forced fumble, recovered, ran down field, and pitched back for the score!
UF out runs TennesseeFlorida runs past Tennessee. In true speed state fashion, UT receivers, and coverage teams struggled to get free or catch UF. Plays of the game include a 65 return by M. Palardy, a red zone FG, and a UT interception were the differences in the game. Sharrif Floyd played fantastic and terrorized the UT OL all game long.
UT controls GeorgiaUT defense and ball control offense was too much for georgia to handle. UT was able to control the ball 20:00 to 7:00 and harass the georgia offense all game long. Coach Bossy was quoted afterwords as saying "Being a border state, were going to battle georgia on the field, at the water cooler, recruiting, everything. Coach Sabo is going to be very sick of seeing orange because were going to be recruiting georgia hard and plan on continuing to win on the field!! ON ROCKYTOP!"
Tennessee Escapes Notre DameTennessee rallies late to beat the Domers. Tyler Bray had his worst game as QB for the volunteers, forcing throws and getting sacked. Bray finished with 4 INTs but had a very important late TD to his TE to take the lead. Notre Dame came storming back, with less than a minute left but couldn't convert. Coach Bossy said "Well we didn't play well. Our D kept us in the game. Our offense turned the ball over way too much. ND had a great LB core that really limited what we could do rushing. We ramed up our offensive speed and that got us some yards, but were going to need to start to convert in the red zone if we expect to push for an SEC title game. Tyler had a bad game, but he'll get better. Too many missed passes and forcing the ball. I give coach Brain Kelly some credit, they had us on the ropes."
In another terrible performance Tenn turns the ball over 4 times while not creating any turnovers themselves. Hitting the wrong buttons caused two turn overs and a missed 2 pt conversion. This game was very poorly played by Coach IMBOSSY. After the game Coach BOSSY's press conference:
These stats were surprising to me as We had over 150 more yards of offense. The turnovers is what killed us.Once I got in a groove, i was able to move the ball and make some things happen, but we came up short.
In a defensive battle, UT walks away over UNC. UNC posed very little threat most of the game, choosing to run their RB up the middle a lot. The UT defense played tough as usual, planting the UNC QB often. UT continued to pound the rock, and throw for many yards. When in sync, UT is tough to stop.
