Week 1: #25 Texas 21 - #7 Auburn 0
-Neither offense could really get into a groove in the early part of the game. Garrett Gilbert was able to hit the speedy Marquise Goodwin on a corner route for a 17 yard TD with 1:11 on the clock.

-It was more the of same, tough defense and stalling offenses, as both teams traded punts and field position for much of the 2nd quarter.
7-0 at halftime
-On their first drive of the 3rd quarter, Texas used their size and strength in the running game, to control the clock and to wear down Auburns front seven. UT HB Foswhitt Whittaker was able to take it over left tackle from 4 yards out on a drive that nearly ate up half the quarter.
14-0 end of 3rd
-UT's defense played tough all game and continued that in the 4th quarter. It was just one of those games where Texas gained all the momentum early, which translated to all the breaks late. None more evident than DJ Monroe's late TD rush with 2:52 remaining in the game, where Auburn had him in the backfield, but didn't wrap up, and he was able to scurry 20 yards to paydirt.

Week 2: #23 Texas 27 - #18 Miami 21
Marquise Goodwin caught the Garrett Gilbert pass from 16 yards with 2:06 on the clock as the first quarter was rather uneventful.
7-0 end of 1st
The second quarter was a fireworks show. Miami struck early with a 7 yard TD pass from Harris to Byrd. Both teams offensives would stall out, including Garrett Gilbert going down for the rest of the game. With 2:13 left in the first half things caught fire. Texas TD pass, then Miami TD pass, then Miami forces a turnover and scores again. Texas ends the half with a 43 yard field goal.
17-21 at halftime
All the momentum of the 2nd quarter died out and the 3rd quarter was dull. The only points came with :34 seconds on the clock with Texas hit a 28 yard field goal.
20-21 end of 3rd
It was more of the same in the 4th quarter. Texas ran the ball and controlled the clock. Marquise Goodwin ended the game like he started it, with a TD reception from 8 yards out to seal the victory.

Week 3: #19 Texas 40 - Cal 19
Cal receives and starts the game with a nice 2 minute drive down the field and ends it with 3 points. Texas comes back the very next offensive play on an 80 yard strike from Gilbert to Davis.
7-3 end of 1st
Both teams came out after the first playing great defense and traded field position for much of the quarter. After trading field goals, Texas' offensive came alive. With 2:11 left in the half Gilbert threw another TD pass to Davis this time from 35 yards out, but there was more. With just :08 left before half Gilbert was able to find Davis wide open once again from 23 yards out.
24-6 at halftime
Texas came out in the 2nd half looking to expose the mismatch with Davis and to play stingy defense, they accomplished both. Davis score from 33 yards out and Texas gave up a score with 1:06 left in the quarter.
31-13 end of 3rd
Cal score early in the quarter on a 34 yard TD pass. Mike Davis caught his 5th and final touchdown of the game this time from backup QB Derek Newton from 59 yards out. Texas would get a safety in the final minutes, putting a stamp on a great defensive showing.
40-19 end of game

Week 6: #10 Texas 17 - #2 Oklahoma 24
-The Longhorns would fumble on their first drive, a sign of things to come. However, after giving the ball away two plays later Landry Jones would be hit while throwing and the ball would land right into OL Dravannit Johnson's hands who would break a tackle and take it 56 yards to pay dirt.
7-0 end of 1st
-Much of the 2nd quarter would be a stale mate. Texas would score the first poiints of the quarter with 1:57 left on a 5 yard Garrett Gilbert option run over left tackle. Oklahoma would answer back on the next drive, when Jones connected with a wide open Trey Franks for a 65 yard TD pass. OU would hit a field goal in the final seconds and it seemed like they were gaining momentum.
14-10 at halftime
-What happened next would ultimately decide the game. After a stop by the Texas defense OU would set up for a long field goal, but the had no plans to kick. The place holder got the snap, stood up, and found a wide open Roy Finch streaking across the field, the pass was complete and Finch took it 43 yards to the house. Momentum OU.
17-17 end of 3rd
-OU was able to add the go ahead touchdown with 5:11 to go in the game. After that Texas would hit a wall on offense and Garrett Gilbert would throw another interception in the final minutes.
