    Year 1, Week 6

Jerrod Johnson is easily the best QB in the game. He was pretty much ROBO QB for all 4 quarters. He wen 30-37 for 420 yards against one of the best defenses in the country. He put the ball in the right place almost every time, a few of those incompletions due to the receivers not being able to drag their feet. Johnson really had the Razorback fans worried in the first half, as this was the only time they've been tested all year.

The Razorbacks offense kept on the aggressive though, putting up points and moving the ball with great consistency. They didn't break under pressure or get rattled by their defense's inability to quell the Aggie offense.

Arkansas's defense gave up a lot of points, but it's not necessarily a cause for concern. They did an excellent job of stopping the run, mostly due to another outstanding performance by Jerry Franklin, who is flying all over the field and putting up huge numbers (Heisman for a linebacker anyone?). The poor passing yards given up weren't even because of lapses in coverage or mistakes going for the ball. The receivers were covered well almost every play, but Jerrod Johnson was able to place the ball with precision. The only big mistake by the secondary was the missed tackle on TAMU's second TD.

The scoreline really shouldn't raise the hopes of the Razorbacks future opponents... unless they have a career performance like Jerrod Johnson, they probably won't put up a whole lot of offense.

    It was crazy.

The QB was in 2 minute drill mode the whole game... or so it seemed.

Tennessee Sneaks Out Of Athens With Big Win

    #18 Tennessee - 27
    Georgia - 19

In the pouring rain there aren't very many options.
This game came down to sloppy turnovers and a battle to see who could control the running game.

In the end it was an interception by Vols CB, Anthony Anderson that sealed the deal and gave them the win. It had been one hell of a battle up until then.

A bad decision by Tennessee punt returner, Danarius Moore to try and return a fourth quarter punt from the goal line gave the Vols terrible field position when they had been holding a 7-point lead.

It soon went sour and as Georgia sent the house on 3rd and 16 and got the safety, every TV in America switched over to see what was happening in this SEC showdown.

    It was not to be...

Tennessee chewed the clock after stopping the next Bulldog drive and kicked a 47 yard FG with :37 seconds left.

Georgia's desperation passing resulted in a game-ending INT as Tennessee took a knee and headed back to Knoxville... victorious.

It's nice to see the cpu giving us some battles. I'm sorry Killer Nuts, I didn't know the Arkansas D was world beaters. Hopefully I can manage to get by a great LSU squad cuz if I can manage that, I should be able to get myself into the SEC championship game. I have to know what all the fuss is about with this Razorback team.

Tech Plays Poorly, But Still Beats Chippewas
    [IMG]
Ryan Williams continues his dominance on the ground as the #1 rusher in all of college football.

    BLACKSBURG, VIRGINIA
-- A sloppy game by the Hokies did not not stop them from beating out-of-conference foe Central Michigan in a one week break from conference play. The focus did not seem to be there in the team's 21-6 victory on Saturday. The Defense held the Chippewas to a lower number, but were torched for 283 yards through the air, but made a few goal line stands which turned out to be a game changer. CB Rashad Carmichael picked off a first quarter pass from CMU quarterback Ryan Radcliff as one of two turnovers forced by the Hokie Defense on the day. Defensive End Steven Friday continues to terrorize opposing tackles as he has notched 10 sacks through 6 games which leads the NCAA. "I'm on a real hot streak right now, but as I get more attention everything will probably even out numbers wise" said the senior Friday. "We gave them a lot of different looks and they still had some success against us, but in the end we only gave up 6 points so I guess we can be proud of that" said Defensive Captain Carmichael.

The upset alert flashed across the nation when starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor went down with an injury at the end of the first quarter. The #9 ranked team found a way to make it work as redshirt freshman Logan Thomas relieved him. "I was ready to get a chance to help this team win, but I hated to see Tyrod go down" said Thomas. Thomas didn't have a great second quarter as he threw 2 bad interceptions. Taylor looked to be out for the rest of the game, but started the 2nd half as the quarterback. "We were only up 7-6 at halftime so I knew I had to go in and get things started." Eventually the team found enough balance through the air and ground to put 2 touchdowns on the board in the second half. The story of the game offensively was none other than Ryan Williams, week after week he earns his yards and today he did it all. Williams accounted for all 3 touchdowns on the day and eclipsed the 100-yard mark once again. "The guy is a workhorse" said Wide Receiver Jamal Boykin. "We didn't play our best game by far, but good teams win when they play badly so that is a good sign" said Coach Beamer.

The Hokies will face ACC foe Wake Forest (2-3) next week at home at Lane Stadium.

Offensive Player of the Game: RB Ryan Williams, 26 carries, 131 yards, 3 touchdowns
Defensive Players of the Game: LB Barquell Rivers 10 tackles and DE Steven Friday 7 tackles with 4 sacks

Atlanta, Georgia: Shut out. The Yellow Jacket offense was non-existant this week against a surprisingly good Virginia defense.

The team amassed less than 100 yards of total offense, turned the ball over twice and allowed 21 points. Most offenses would be able to score 21 points, not this one.

The rumor mill continues to swirl of a potential firing at season's end of the team's offensive coordinator. To add fuel to this fire, the team has gained a hard commit from one of the league's top QB prospects Kyle Parks.

The season is pretty much in jeopardy now with the team's second conference loss.

    Final - Florida 24 - LSU 14

With a driving rainstorm falling in Gainesville, the Defense's figured to be the main attraction as LSU traveled to #1 Florida.

The first half would see both offenses struggle a bit. LSU moved the ball pretty well on their first drive but they stalled out and were forced to punt. The Gator offense clicked on the opening drive, the drive would result in Emmanuel Moody punching it in from the goalline on his third attempt. LSU would continue to move the ball but continue to stall drives in Gator territory. LSU kicker Josh Jasper would miss a long field goal and gator kicker Caleb Sturgis would convert his to give the Gators a 10-0 halftime lead.

The second half would see both offenses open up a bit. The Gators struck first when John Brantley hit Chris Rainey on 47yd TD pass. Brantley was hit hard on the play but was able to get the ball off and Rainey, who was working against All-American Patrick Peterson was able to adjust and come up with the ball and make it into the end-zone. LSU would answer quickly. On a beautifully designed play, Russell Shepperd took a WR screen and scampered 66 yds deep into Gator territory. The Tigers would capitalize with Jefferson hitting Terrance Tolliver on a screen, Tolliver then waltzed around some nifty blocks and into the end-zone. On the ensuing drive, Jeff Demps would again prove why he's so dangerous. Demps busted a off-tackle run outside and went untouched for 62yds and a 24-7 lead. LSU would not go down quietly. Jefferson again torched the Gator secondary and easily marched into the end-zone to make it a 24-14 game and that was the final.

LSU played a hell of a game! If it wasn't for some big time Gator breaks, this game could have gone to the Tigers. I do not want to see that D-Line again as they pretty much handled my run game other than the long run by Demps. Coach Nautica certainly has figured out the pass game as he constantly beat me up through the air. My D-Line did come up big with some very well timed sacks but all in all this was a very competitive game that could've gone either way. If it was in Baton Rouge, it probably would have been 24-14 for the Tigers. I look forward to our game next year. I imagine the Tigers will again be a force to be reckoned with.
