Year 3-Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Game Summaries

Georgia Tech loses to LSU in a week 1 opener. GT played like shit on offense. The offensive line did a terrible job, and the defense folded like a cheap suit when they needed a stop the most.

    Highlights below:

Jefferson doing his best Mike Vick inpersonation.

For the next game where you play a running Qb, i'd suggest using alot of QB spies or contain. Ole Miss does a pretty good job of doing both i'd say. Sometimes on a rollout in that game i saw about 10-15 yards of open space in front of me due to that drop back zone coverage. It did great to stop the passing game deep but it's terrible against fast QB's. Just a tip though. You did almost come back and win. Remember for the youtube highlights, make sure the tags are capped like this [YOUTUBE] and you don't include the link, just the numbers/letters after the equal sign in the link.

Georgia Tech defeats #12 North Carolina

    Final:

    GT: 40
    North Carolina: 28

Tough game. The Tar Heels moved the ball well on GT and we need to shore that up quick. GT did rack up over 328 yds of rushing too. I t is a big ACC win with Miami and Clemson already on the horizon. No highlights this week. But will have some for week 3.

#8 Georgia Tech defeats the Navy Midshipmen

    Final:

    GT: 44
    Navy: 17

GT traveled to Navy and got another big win in the 2011 season. GT now moves to (3-1) overall with a #8 ranking in the Top 25 poll. Jaybo Shaw & Company reemed the undersized Navy defense with over 500 yards of offense. Navy had there own moments on the ground, but couldnt keep consistant with their drives.

GT has huge ACC games coming up with Miami and Clemson. Miami is #3 in the country and Clemson is in the Top 25. If GT wants to protect their ACC Championship and have a BCS title shot, they will need to win both these games.

Georgia Tech defeats the Duke Blue Devils

    Final:

    GT: 58
    Duke: 7

This was an ugly one......for the Duke Blue Devils. GT romped them all day racking up a total 643 yards on offense. GT smahed and dashed through out the day on the ground, and aired it out at times also.

Georgia Tech goes to (5-1) and now faces a tough ACC opponent Miami next week on the road.

    Georgia Tech defeats Clemson

    Final:

    GT: 49
    Clemson: 0

Well GT sorta rebounded last night with an impressive victory over #10 Ranked Clemson. From out the gate, Jaybo Shaw and Company ran & passed up and down the field on the Tigers. The victory moves Georgia Tech to (6-2) overall. While GT will not be going to the ACC Champ. The Jackets can still cause some potential damage in the Top 25 standings and get themselves into a BCS Bowl game if they can rip off some good wins.

    Well see.

    #9 Georgia Tech defeats Maryland

    Final:

    GT: 49
    Maryland: 21

Georgia Tech improves to (7-2) on the year. GT did an excellent job putting pressure on the Maryland QB all day wrecking havoc. Maryland moved the ball through the air well at times, but not consistantly enough. Maryland had the number one offense in the country coming into the game.

    #8 Georgia Tech defeats Virginia

    Final:

    GT: 31
    Virginia: 28

Georgia Tech gets another big conference win at Virginia. The victory puts Tech at (8-2). GT now has a bye week coming up and then the Univ. of Georgia. Georgia Tech gave up too many big plays to the Cav's offense. GT also did a terrible job tackling also.

We did gain over 275 yards rushing and over 150 yards passing on the day.

#7 Georgia Tech defeats #17 Georgia

    Final:

    GT: 36
    UGA: 13

The Yellow Jackets move to (9-2) overall and can now lock up an at-large BCS game with a victory over #1 and undefeated Penn State. The Jackets moved the ball fairly well aganist a tough Bulldog team. GT had a huge interception returned for TD in the endzone that helped seal the "W".

Like stated before, Tech travels to happey valley to take a dominant and undefeated Nittany Lion ball club. GT will have their hands full, but a win would cap off a wonderful Yellow Jacket season. Highlights below.

    Happy Valley.....Here we come.

#5 Georgia Tech loses to #1 Penn State

    Final:

    GT: 21
    PSU: 28

Georgia Tech lost a tough & heart-breaking game to the undisputed and #1 Ranked country. Hats off to Coach DirtyD12 and his Nittany Lions.

GT struck first going down the field and scoring on a 3rd & Goal TD pass from Jaybo Shaw. Penn State would come back to tie things up at 7-7 in the 2nd quarter.

Both team again would swap TD's in the 2nd quarter before going into the half tied up. In the 3rd quarter GT's halftime adjustments just didnt work. Penn State still moved the ball well at Georgia Tech fell behind 28-14. Then late in the 3rd, PSU QB Newsome threw an errant pass to All-American Cooper Taylor who took it to the house for seven.

Down 28-21, GT would force a fumble and have a chance to tie the game with a minute or so left in the game, but Jaybo Shaw was picked-off and Penn State was able to run oout the clock.

Tech falls to (9-3) while Penn State looks to be going to the National Championship. Tech now has lost to the #1, #2, and #3 Ranked teams in the country. Cant complain much.

    Good game. Highlight's below.

Georgia Tech wins the Gator Bowl

    Final:

    GT: 48
    Purdue: 28

Georgia Tech finishes off a strong 2011 campaign with a solid victory over the Purdue Boilermakers in the Gator Bowl. The #12 Ranked Jackets finish the Year (10-3) overall.

Senior QB Jaybo Shaw let it all hang out in his final game passing for over 200 yds and rushing for over 50 on the ground. Junior OLB Sylvester had 2 sacks, and 1 forced fumble.

Now the Jackets head into the offseason with 15 Senior on the ways out. They now have a huge void at the QB position and a young QB will have to step up for them in 2012. The recruiting class looks solid for the jackets as they have focused heavlily on areas of need.

Stay tuned for a scouting report and a recruiting analysis for the 2011 Yellow Jacket Signee's.

Congrats on a nice season G-Unit. I look forward to future battles, you always give me fits. I think we lost more than you did, the ACC should be interesting.
