The Golden Panthers fell to 0-2 on the season with a tough loss to intra-state rival Central Florida, in Orlando, Fl. Both teams played sloppy football, and not just because of the weather, they combined for 9 turnovers, which lead to a back and fourth battle. We caught up with Coach Stewart after the game.

"We made one big mistake and that cost us the game, we ran the option all week in practice without problems, but we fumble the pitch, and they take it to the house, you take that play away and we have ourselves a different ball game. We need to continue to cut down on the turnovers, I like what I'm seeing out of the passing game, but four interceptions is still way too many. It's putting a lot of pressure on our D, fortunetly they were able to cause four turnovers themselves. The pick 6 and fumble recovery as they were getting ready to score, kept us in the game. For the most part I was pleased with the way our defense played, but then you look at the stats and we gave up over 400 yards of offense. We'll come out next week looking to compete.
